In principle, the bamboo cover plate can simply be placed over the sink, along with the drainer(s).
When using the cover plate with an integrated stainless steel container, this is only possible to a limited extent. If you use the cover plate with the stainless steel container, you cannot use the drainer. If you are using the cover plate without the stainless steel container, you can place the cover plate over the drainer.
