What is a type plate?

Permissible axle loads
When do I need a new type plate?
In the event of changes to the laden mass – for example, following uprating or downrating – you will be provided with a new type plate along with the documents. This must then be fitted to the vehicle. This means that key vehicle data is recorded directly on the vehicle.
