What tasks does the electric block (EBL) perform in the motorhome?

Battery charging while driving

Simultaneous charging of the starter battery and living area battery by the generator, parallel connection of the batteries via an isolating relay. Standard circuit, technical changes for vehicles with intelligent alternators.

Battery charging by solar controller

Maximum permissible charging current 14A, fused with 15A (for living area battery), simultaneous charging of the starter battery.

Battery separation

The battery is disconnected using the battery disconnect switch. This measure prevents the living area battery from slowly discharging due to quiescent currents during shutdown. The prerequisite is that all consumers are connected via the EBL.

Battery selector switch

Switching option to ensure optimal charging (IUoU) of the connected living area battery when supplied with mains power, depending on the type.

Automatic switch-off

The battery monitor compares the voltage of the living area battery with a reference voltage. As soon as the battery voltage falls below 10.5V, ALL consumers are switched off by the main switching relays 1 and 2. The system can only be switched on again when the operating or control panel is over 11V.

Validation

The EBL takes over the overall protection of the 12 volt circuit in the motorhome.
