The central locking system in your HYMER motorhome based on Mercedes Benz offers you various options for use.
Keyless start function
Your HYMER motorhome is equipped with a keyless start function. This function allows you to use the start-stop function in your motorhome and start your vehicle's motor without having to insert the key into a keyhole.
Please unlock your vehicle first using the remote control key. Then open the driver's door of your vehicle. Make sure that your remote control key is in the detection zone (1). This detection area is located approximately 60cm around the area of the climate control panel. You can also use the key holder in the cup holder. Once you have fulfilled all the conditions, you can start the vehicle's motor using the start/stop button.
Your HYMER motorhome always supports you with an acoustic and visual signal when locking and unlocking your vehicle.
Important
In an integrated vehicle, the open main entry door, locker doors and service compartment doors are shown as open passenger doors in your instrument cluster display.
In a semi-integrated vehicle, you will see the open main entry door, the storage compartment doors and service compartment doors as an open sliding door in your instrument cluster.
Global vs. selective control
The global or selective control of your central locking system allows you to control doors (and flaps) differently.
With global control, you can lock all doors using the lock button on your remote control key. To do this, the doors and flaps must be closed and must not be displayed as open in the instrument cluster. You can unlock all doors by pressing the unlock button.
With the selective control, you can unlock the driver's door first and then the main entry door and other doors independently of each other. To activate selective control, you must hold down the lock and unlock buttons on your remote control key simultaneously for several seconds. The battery indicator light indicates the successful change to selective control by flashing.
If you press the unlock symbol on your radio key once on your integrated HYMER motorhome, you open the driver's door. Press the unlock symbol again to open the main entry door and all other doors that are connected via the central locking system.
Press the unlock symbol on the remote control key of your semi-integrated HYMER motorhome once to open the driver and passenger doors. Press the unlock symbol again to open the main entry door and the flaps of your motorhome.
To lock the vehicle, press the lock symbol on your remote control key once.
By pressing and holding the lock/unlock button on the remote control key, you can exit selective control mode and return to global control.
You have another option for locking and unlocking the doors and flaps via buttons in the cab.
Locking and unlocking via buttons in the cab
You can always lock and unlock the doors using the lock and unlock button in the cab. To do this, press the corresponding button.
In semi-integrated vehicles, you will find the locking and unlocking buttons on the driver's cabin door.
On integrated vehicles, you will find these buttons on the dashboard to the right below the steering wheel.
Tips
- Protect the key battery from discharging: You can deactivate the keyless start function on your key. To do this, briefly press the locking button on your key twice. The warning light on the key lights up twice briefly and once long to confirm that the function has been deactivated. Please do not forget that you have deactivated your key. You can reactivate the function by pressing any button on your key.
Please note: if you deactivate the keyless start function, you can only start your vehicle by inserting the key into the key compartment provided for this purpose in the lower area of the centre console! - Deactivate the keyless start function when your vehicle is parked for a longer period of time (e.g. over the winter break) - this will save your key's battery. Please do not forget to reactivate the keyless start function after the winter break!
- During your camping stay, please keep your key outside the reception area in the cab so that the vehicle can shut down. This protects your vehicle's starter battery. In a semi-integrated vehicle, the reception area extends to around the B-pillar.
- If you do not open the vehicle within 40 seconds of unlocking it, the vehicle locks automatically and theft protection is reactivated.
- If the battery indicator lamp on your key no longer lights up when you press the buttons, the battery in your key is flat and you should replace the battery.
- The doors lock automatically at a speed of 15 km/h. However, please ensure that you have properly closed all doors and flaps before setting off.
You will also find all the information again in the operating instructions for your base vehicle.
