But don't worry: With the right tips and tricks, you can ensure that the inside of your vehicle stays pleasantly cool during these hot days. In this article, we show you how you can protect your mobile home from the summer heat and ensure a pleasant room temperature.

1. darken the interior

Direct sunlight can also heat up your Hymer Van or motorhome very quickly. To avoid this, provide sufficient shade:

Keep the heat out before it can penetrate the vehicle. Use additional exterior insulated screen cover for the windscreen - such as sunblinds. You attach these to the outside of your vehicle to cover the windscreen and cab windows.

Correct ventilation

One of the simplest and most effective measures against heat in the vehicle is proper ventilation. Only ventilate when the outdoor temperature is lower than the temperature inside the vehicle. You can ventilate your vehicle well, especially in the cooler morning and evening hours.

Open windows, roof hatches and other doors. If necessary, take the opportunity to create a draught to promote air circulation. You can also use fans for support here.

Use air conditioning, fan and co

If you have air conditioning in your vehicle, you can of course use it to quickly and easily cool down the temperature inside the vehicle. Otherwise, it is possible to have air conditioning retrofitted. Your dealer will be happy to check for you whether and to what extent this is possible for your vehicle. 

It is possible to use fans for air circulation. These will not be able to cool down the warm temperatures, but can help to make the time spent inside the vehicle a little more pleasant.

Tip: Avoid cooking or showering in the vehicle, as this generates additional heat that can build up in the vehicle. Long stays by people also heat this up additionally. Therefore, spend as much time as possible outside the vehicle.
